Uhuru intellectual impaired unit
Uhuru Primary school is located at Arusha centre in Jacaranda street. It started 1990 with 8 students and 2 teachers, It is within Uhuru primary school. Now it has 82 students aged 5-16 years, 43 boys and 39 girls. 5 teachers and 5 classrooms.
- Volunteer duties/activities are:
- -Teach math’s
- -Health education
- -Teach speech/communication
- -To get body part ( Therapist)
- -Simple vocational skills/ training (eg)Tailoring,cooking,making shoe mat
Duration:2-12 weeks
Working hours:7:30am - 12:00 noon
Monday - Thursday
Friday: weekly report/assessment
- 3 weeks 550 USD.
- 4 weeks 675 USD.
- 5 weeks 800 USD
- 6 weeks 925 USD
- Price inclusive:
- Minimum is 3 weeks. Extra week: 125 USD per week extra
- Airport transfer upon arrival and departure
- Accommodation at host family, meals included
- Donation for the project
- City tour and guidance from our volunteer coordinator
