Mount Meru Hospital Project

Mount Meru Hospital is a referral hospital in Arusha, serving 18 other small district hospitals in the region. It attends to hundreds of patients daily, has 450 beds, and several clinical departments. As the health centers are often understaffed, they greatly benefit from extra help. Volunteers for this project must be 18+ years old and enrolled in medical studies. A recommendation letter, resume, and letter of motivation are required to apply.

Volunteer Duties/Activities:

  • Assist the main doctor/bio-medical scientist
  • Attend to in and out patients
  • Monitor patients
  • Measure blood pressure
  • Arrange files
  • Keep records of patients
  • Assist midwives during child delivery

Duration: 2-12 weeks

Working Hours: 6-7 hours a day, Monday to Friday
